This is Morgan Sage. Before I tell you about Morgan, I have to start this entry with the story of how I met her parents. We met two years ago when I attended The Art Institute. The college's career services department had a job listing that I frequented, where I found the listing of her parent's search for a wedding photographer. I quickly responded. This couple was so easy to respect and befriend; Bill with his quiet, reserved, gentle nature and Tamika with her ever-encouraging spirit. It was at their wedding that I "really" began photographing under my own name, VIOLETBROWN photography.
Sadly, after the wedding, I lost touch with this wonderful couple. They moved west, but my hopes of photographing this family grow were not lost. Tamika phoned me in the fall, while her baby girl was singing praises in the background, to ask me to photograph Morgan's dedication on the east coast. What a wonderful surprise. It was an honor to document another important moment for this family and for this wonderful couple, now wonderful parents.
It was great to see the entire family again, supporting Morgan as she was dedicated. "And what a big family," said the pastor as they all gathered up front to stand with Morgan. Morgan was content in any arms and in all situations except for when she was really ready for her bottle and her peas. I am not surprised that she is such a pleasant child with such pleasant parents.
Morgan is such a happy little girl. She is not just happy but funny, seemingly intentional. It is my guess that she will win many hearts with her comic nature and her huge smile. I wish that her parents still lived close enough for me to frequently photograph Morgan, but I am content that I at least was able to meet her :: so content.
